1Příbytek pak uděláš z deseti pruhů látky z jemného skaného lnu, z fialového a šarlatového purpuru a z karmazínu. Uděláš je s vyšitými cheruby. 2Jeden pruh bude dlouhý dvacet osm loket, široký čtyři lokty a všechny pruhy budou mít stejný rozměr. 3Pět z těch pruhů bude navzájem spojeno, i druhých pět pruhů bude navzájem spojeno. 4Na okraji prvního pruhu na konci spojeného kusu uděláš poutka z fialového purpuru a stejně tak to uděláš u okraje pruhu, jenž ukončuje druhý spojený kus. 5Uděláš padesát poutek na první pruh a padesát poutek na okraj pruhu druhého spojeného kusu, tak aby si poutka navzájem odpovídala. 6Uděláš také padesát zlatých spon a těmi sponami sepneš pruhy jeden k druhému. Takto bude Příbytek z jediného kusu. 7Uděláš pruhy z látky z kozí srsti na stan nad Příbytkem. Uděláš jich jedenáct. 8Jeden pruh bude třicet loket dlouhý, čtyři lokty široký. Všech jedenáct pruhů bude mít stejné rozměry. 9Spojíš pět pruhů na jedné straně, šest pruhů na druhé straně a šestý pruh přehrneš na přední stranu stanu. 10Na okraj prvního pruhu na konci prvního spojeného kusu uděláš padesát poutek a padesát poutek na okraj pruhu druhého spojeného kusu. 11Uděláš padesát bronzových spon a navlékneš ty spony do poutek, tak aby se spojil stan, jenž takto bude z jediného kusu. 12Z toho, co bude spadat z přebývajících pruhů stanu, bude polovina přebývajícího pruhu spadat přes zadní stranu Příbytku. 13Přebývající loket po obou stranách délky pásů stanu bude spadat po stranách Příbytku, tak aby jej to z obou stran překrývalo. 14Pro stan uděláš pokrývku z beraních kůží obarvených na červeno a pokrývku z jemné kůže navrch. 15Uděláš pro Příbytek desky z akáciového dřeva, jež budou stát. 16Každá deska bude deset loket dlouhá a jeden a půl lokte široká. 17Každá deska bude mít dva sdružené čepy. Uděláš to stejně u všech desek Příbytku. 18Ty desky uděláš pro zřízení Příbytku: dvacet desek pro jižní stranu směrem k poledni. 19Pod těch dvacet desek uděláš čtyřicet stříbrných podstavců: dva podstavce pod jednu desku k oběma jejím čepům, dva podstavce pod další desku k oběma jejím čepům. 20Z druhé strany Příbytku, ze severní strany, bude dvacet desek 21a čtyřicet stříbrných podstavců: dva podstavce pod jednou deskou, dva podstavce pod další deskou. 22Pro zadní stranu Příbytku směrem k moři uděláš šest desek 23a dvě desky uděláš pro rohy zadní strany Příbytku. 24Ty desky budou vespod po délce spojeny a zůstanou spojeny až k hornímu konci do výše prvního kruhu. Tak tomu bude v případě obou desek určených do obou rohů. 25Celkem tedy bude osm desek s příslušnými stříbrnými podstavci, tedy šestnáct podstavců: dva podstavce pod první deskou, dva podstavce pod další deskou. 26Uděláš příčky z akáciového dřeva: pět k deskám prvního boku Příbytku; 27pět příček k deskám druhého boku Příbytku a pět příček k deskám, jež vytvářejí směrem k západu zadní stranu Příbytku. 28Střední příčka položená v poloviční výši bude spojovat desky z jednoho konce na druhý. 29Desky potáhneš zlatem, uděláš k nim zlaté kruhy, do nichž se zasunou příčky, a příčky potáhneš zlatem. 30Takto zbuduješ Příbytek podle vzoru, jenž ti byl ukázán na hoře. 31Uděláš oponu z fialového a šarlatového purpuru, z karmazínu a z jemného skaného lnu s vyšitými cheruby. 32Zavěsíš ji na čtyři zlatem potažené akáciové sloupy opatřené zlatými háčky, postavené na čtyřech stříbrných podstavcích. 33Oponu umístíš pod spony: a tam, za tu oponu, vneseš Archu svědectví a opona pro vás bude označovat oddělení svatyně od velesvatyně. 34Na Archu Svědectví do velesvatyně položíš slitovnici. 35Na vnější stranu opony postavíš stůl a naproti němu, na jižní stranu Příbytku, svícen, a stůl dáš na severní stranu Příbytku. 36Pro vchod do stanu uděláš protkávaný závěs z fialového a šarlatového purpuru, z karmazínu a z jemného skaného lnu. 37K tomuto závěsu uděláš pět akáciových sloupů a potáhneš je zlatem, háčky k nim budou zlaté, a odliješ k nim pět bronzových podstavců.

mishcan, from
shachan, to dwell, means simply a dwelling-place, or habitation. "When God had brought the children of Israel out of Egypt," says the very learned Dr. Cudworth, "resolving to manifest himself in a peculiar manner present among them, he thought good to dwell amongst them in a visible and external manner; and therefore, while they were in the wilderness, and sojourned in tents, he would have a tent or tabernacle built, to sojourn with them also. --Now, the tabernacle being thus a house for God to dwell in visibly, to make up the notion of dwelling or habitation complete, there must be all things suitable to a house belonging to it. Hence, in the holy place, there must be a table and a candlestick, because these were the ordinary furniture of a room. The table must have its dishes, and spoons, and bowls, and covers, belonging to it, though they were never used; and always be furnished with bread upon it. The candlestick must have its lamps continually burning, etc."

wav, if it has not its name from its hook-like form, is yet used as a connective particle, it would rather appear to denote hooks, which connected the curtains or vails to the pillars. The LXX. also render it [agkulai,] "handles", and [krikoi,] "rings" or "clasps".
